Faunas
According to the regionalization proposal fauna in the New Atlas of Cuba, the municipality of Trinidad Cuba belongs to the Central district, where a rich variety of fauna including species of invertebrates, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals
some of them endemic or unique features, such as the smallest of the birds: hummingbird (Mellisuga helenae), the smallest of amphibians: the frog (Sminthillus limbatus), or one of the smallest mammals: the butterfly bat (Natalus lepidus).
In the mountains we found several species of molluscs, among which stand Sacrysia petitiana and Polymita snails, while at sea are characteristic conch (Strombus gigas) and oyster (Ostrea rizophorse).
