Different racial groups harmoniously integrated socio-economic development, people are Trinitarian in the early XXI. In 2008 the total population of Trinidad amounted to 74 677 inhabitants of whom 37 929 were men and 36 748 women.

Birth rates and death of the last decades of the last century, show a natural growth average of 300 inhabitants per year.

The population is very unevenly distributed in the territory. The municipality's housing stock is 20 990 households (18 768 households, 2 162 apartments and 60 huts and other) with a density of 16.92 dwellings per km ². The average occupancy rate of 3.37 people per household. Of these 13 650 are in good condition, 5 262 2 078 regular and in disrepair. After the measures taken by the country to face the economic difficulties of the special period, many Trinidadians began using their homes to exercise the lease, mainly to international tourism, as well as meet the growing demand for accommodation which can not be satisfied in full by the capacities of tourist facilities.

At the beginning of 2008, 432 homeowners exercised this form of self-employment, 85 of them rent their housing in local currency and foreign exchange 347 do.
